International Application Timetable

The table below details the application process timeline as approved by the management of the Cambridge University

Dates and Deadlines Application process
March 2019 onwards Research the courses available at Cambridge and consider your College or open application choice.
May 2019 onwards If there’s information that you need that you can’t find on the University or College websites, please contact the relevant College admissions office, who’ll be happy to answer your specific questions.
July-October 2019
  • Applicants from outside the EU, and/or who are applying for organ scholarships, will need to complete and submit a COPA together with the appropriate application fee by the relevant deadline.
  • You must also submit a UCAS application by the relevant deadline.
20 September 2019 If you’d like to be considered for interview in Malaysia or Singapore, you must have submitted the following by 18.00 (UK time):

  • your COPA
  • your UCAS application
  • (if required) your Transcript
26 September 2019 If you’d like to be considered for interview in Malaysia or Singapore, you must have submitted the following by 18.00 (UK time):

  • your Supplementary Application Questionnaire (SAQ)
1 October 2019 All candidates applying for Medicine must be registered with their test centre by 1 October to take the BMAT.
15 October 2019 If you’d like to be considered for interview in Cambridge, Canada, Hong Kong, India, PR China or the USA, your UCAS application must have been submitted by 18.00 (UK time).
15 October 2019 All candidates applying for courses with a pre-interview assessment must be registered with their test centre by 15 October, separately from their UCAS/COPA/SAQ application. Candidates who require special access arrangements must be registered by their test centre by 30 September to allow time for arrangements to be made.
19 October 2019 If you’d like to be considered for interview in Cambridge, Canada, Hong Kong, India, PR China or the USA, your COPA (if required) must have been submitted by 18.00 (UK time).
22 October 2019 If you’d like to be considered for interview in Cambridge, Canada, Hong Kong, India, PR China or the USA, your SAQ and (if required) your transcript must have been submitted by 18.00 (UK time)
September-December 2019
  • Applicants are interviewed.
  • You may be asked to submit samples of your written work to your College.
  • Most applicants are required to sit an admissions assessment.

 
Late January 2020 You’re notified of the decision. The possibilities are:

  • you may be unsuccessful
  • you may be made an offer of a conditional place, subject to obtaining specified examination grades
  • you may be made an offer of an unconditional place
October 2020 Academic year starts
