Early Life and Education

Information about the place of birth of Boehly is not available at the moment. Boehly attended Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland, and graduated in 1991. His grandparents emigrated from Germany.

While in school, Boehly was a member of the school’s wrestling team that won the I.A.C championships in both 1990 and 1991. Boehly was honored by the school in 2014 when the school facilities were named the Boehly Family Wrestling Room in his honor.


He proceeded to the College of William & Mary in 1996 where he bagged a B.A . degree in Finance. He also studied at the London School of Economics.


Boehly started working at Citibank and then at CS First Boston while in the London School of Economics.

He spent his early career at  Credit Suisse First Boston and J.H. Whitney & Company and later joined Guggenheim Partners in 2001 where he later became the president.
